Govt promotes 3 JKPS officers to SSP Rank Grade-I; 9 others to SP Rank Grade-II

Srinagar, July 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday promoted twelve officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) to higher ranks, including three to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Selection Grade-I and nine others to Superintendent of Police (SP) Selection Grade-II.

According to separate orders issued by the Home Department, Abrar Ahmad Choudhary, Gh. Jeelani Wani, and Amit Bhasin (all JKPS: 2001) have been promoted to SSP Selection Grade-I (Level 13 of the pay matrix). Abrar’s promotion is notional w.e.f. December 24, 2024, and regular with immediate effect, while Jeelani Wani and Amit Bhasin’s promotions are effective immediately.

Additionally, under a separate order, nine officers were promoted to SP Selection Grade-II (Level 12). The officers promoted are Vinay Kumar (JKPS: 2002), Parvez Ahmad Dar (JKPS: 2007), Tariq Ahmad Wani, Ch. Iftkhar Ahmad, Zoheb Tanveer, Rayaz Iqbal Tantray, Amit Verma, Iftkhar Talib, and Noor Ul Hassan (all JKPS: 2008). Five of these officers Vinay, Parvez, Tariq, Iftkhar, and Zoheb have been granted notional promotion w.e.f. December 24, 2024, with regular effect from now, it reads.

The remaining four have been promoted with immediate effect, reads the order.
