Speaker to discuss functioning of House Committees tomorrow

Srinagar, June 01: The Speaker of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly has convened a meeting with chairpersons of different House Committees on Monday.

Sources said that Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather has called a meeting on Monday with heads of nine House Committees constituted recently to perform functions prescribed to them under the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in J&K Assembly.

“The meeting would discuss functioning of the Financial and other committees,” they said.

Those asked to attend the meeting include Sham Lal Sharma, Chairman Committee on Public Accounts; Shamim Firdous, Chairperson Committee on Estimates; Ali Mohammad Sagar, Chairman Committee on Public Undertakings; Sajad Gani Lone, Chairman, Committee on Government Assurances; Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, Chairman Committee on Environment; Surjeet Singh Slathia, Chairman Ethics committee; Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Chairman Committee on Privileges;. Hasnain Masoodi, Chairman Committee on Subordinate Legislation; and Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah, Chairman Committee on Petitions.

In addition to the chairmen/chairpersons, other officials who have been requested to attend the meeting include Principal Accountant General, J&K; Commissioner Secretary to Government, General Administration Department; and the Secretary to Government Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
