Kathua, Mar 22: A gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists in Sanyal area of Hiranagar in Kathua district of Jammu, sources said on Sunday.

Sources told KNO that on specific inputs about the presence of terrorist in Sanyal, a joint team of forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area.

On intensifying search operation towards the suspected spot, thebhiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggered an encounter, they said.

As per the sources, a group of terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad are believed to be trapped in the area.
