New Delhi, Feb 11: International Human Rights Commission Global high-powered committee under Dr. H. C. José Ángel Ramírez has appointed 36-year-old, Fahar Manzoor Baba alias Fahar Baba, hailing from Srinagar city in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir – Republic of India, as the Director General of India, for International Human Rights Commission Global, “the world’s largest Human Rights Organisation”.
The copy of the order has forwarded to President of India, Prime Minister of India and Ministry of Home Affairs for Information.
The International Human Rights Commission Global, an independent council that aims to promote human rights and public freedoms in accordance with constitutional provisions, in light of international conventions, covenants and charters ratified by IHRCG.
The council will aim at consolidating their values, raising awareness of these rights and contributing to their implementation.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent an ambitious global agenda that addresses the most urgent challenges facing the world, from eradicating poverty to combating climate change, inequality and injustice.
At the IHRCG (International Human Rights Commission Global), they are firmly committed to these goals and actively work to contribute to their realization. “At IHRCG we recognize that the protection and promotion of human rights are fundamental to achieving the SDGs. Our work is closely aligned with these goals, as we firmly believe that the realization of human rights is a central element of sustainable development. We strive to build a world where every person can enjoy their basic human rights, including the right to life, liberty, justice, equality, education and a healthy environment.”
Fahar Baba is very passionate about inclusion concerning race/ethnicity, gender, and life experience. A Kashmir born Fahar Baba with his vast knowledge and experience, will be able to integrate and capitalize in the team and add tremendous value to the International Human Rights Commission Global, the founding/president, in a statement said issued to INS.
Fahar Baba worked as President IHRC in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and is also a Youth Ambassador for International Youth Society. “We are certain that he will create awareness to the society, youth, and general public regarding their rights.”
Further, Fahar Baba said, “It is a great honour to be elected Director General of India of the International Human Rights Commission Global, and I express my gratitude to all its members for entrusting me with this task. I commit to doing my best, and I look forward to working with all stakeholders in ensuring that this year is a success, not only for the work of this Council, but also for the promotion and protection of human rights for all people.”
