Srinagar, Jan 28: The 10th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Srinagar organized a flag-off ceremony for 9-day Bharat Darshan Study Tour on Tuesday.
The event, held at the battalion headquarter, Batmaloo, Srinagar (J&K) was graced by the esteemed presence of Devendra Kumar, Commandant, 14 Bn SSB (Officiating DIG) as the Chief Guest and Dalbir Singh, 2nd-in-Command, 10 BN SSB, Srinagar.
The Bharat Darshan Study Tour is an integral initiative of the SSB aimed at fostering national integration and broadening the horizons of the participants by introducing them to the rich cultural, historical and developmental heritage of India.
This program aligns with SSB’s mission of community engagement and educational outreach.
The Chief Guest Devendra Kumar, Officiating DIG and Dalbir Singh, Second-In-Command, 10 Bn SSB officially signaled the commencement of the tour by hoisting a green flag from the Battalion Headquarters, symbolizing a new journey of learning and exploration.
A total of 30 Kashmiri youths, students of Gujjar & Bakerwal Boys Hostel and Gujjar & Bakerwal Boys PG Hostel hailing from far-flung areas of Kashmir Valley are participating in the tour.
The tour will encompass visits to prominent landmarks in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Delhi and also will give participants a glimpse of India’s diverse traditions, architecture, modern advancements, understanding of administrative structures and interacting with officials to gain insights into the nation’s governance and progress.
Addressing to participants the Chief Guest and Officiating Commandant, 10 Bn SSB motivated the group for active engagement and learn during the tour emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in instilling patriotism and unity.
The flag-off ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and patriotic zeal among the youths and all attendees.
