The National Conference (NC) MP is expected to be joined by the leaders from Awami Iteehad Party (AIP) led by MP from Baramulla constituency, Engineer Abdul Rashid Sheikh and former Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor, Junaid Azim Mattoo.

Ruhullah, who announced to hold a sit-in outside Chief Minister’s residence yesterday, has arrived at the venue to press for the demands of increasing the general category quota to at least 50 per cent. Ruhullah reached the venue after marching from Burn Hall School towards the residence of Chief Minister where he is joined by the youth from different parts of the Valley to stage a sit-in.

Soon after the announcement, the former SMC Mayor, Junaid Azim Mattoo had stated that he would join the youth outside the CM’s residence.

Pertinently, the Omar Abdullah-led government has formed a cabinet sub-committee to look into the grievances by the people on the new reservation rules. However, no time frame has been mentioned for the committee with regard to submitting its report.
