MHA promotes SJM Gilani to DGP Grade

Srinagar, Dec 12: Government of India, has promoted Syed Javiad Mujtaba Gilan(IPS) to the DGP grade.

According to an order by under secretary Government of India copy of which lies with GNS, MHA Gilani has been promoted to the level 16 in the pay matrix with effect from the date of the assumption of charge by the 1994-AGMUT cadre by the officer.

A native of Kashmir, Gillani has earlier remained posted on various challenging and noteworthy assignments of Police organisation in J&K including his posting as IGP Kashmir, Director Vigilance J&K and his deputation to the apex investigation agency of the country, CBI (Government of India).
