Massive crackdown against traffic violators in Qazigund

Kulgam, Nov 20: Traffic Police Qazigund on Wednesday launched a massive crackdown against the traffic violators and seized dozen of two-wheelers in the Qazigund area for the last couple of days.

DTI Qazigund, Lalit kumar Sharma told INS that they have launched special drive against traffic violators especially without helmet and triple riding conducted in Qazigund town.

Many Bikers, Scooty were seized and challaned. All are advised to wear Helmet and avoid triple riding to save their previous lives” he said.

Moreover, strict actions are being taken against minor driving bikes and four wheelers. The Parents and School authorities have been requested to advise Students not to Drive Bikes and Four Wheelers without proper driving Licence. This Drive will continue to curb the menace of Traffic Violations in the district”, he said.

“It is always painful to see young lives being lost on the road due to reckless driving. One thing we have noticed is that parents are supporting their children who are not even 18 yet and they drive two-wheelers and scooties,” he said.

He said that parents’ support in curbing the minor driving vehicles is of utmost importance. “To bring down the number of accidents, we need full support from the parents. We seized many two-wheelers and also counseled the minors by calling their parents as at the maximum, we can seized dozen of two-wheelers for last couple of days that are driven by the youngsters.
