Jammu, Oct 29: Three terrorists have been killed in an encounter in Akhnoor area of Jammu. The encounter broke out after terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle in Asaan, Battal area on Monday, officials said.

An official told KNO that terrorist fired upon an army vehicle near the Line of Control in Akhnoor sector, however, no injuries were reported in the incident.

He said that following the attack, a massive cordon and search operation was launched in the area, during which contact was established with the hiding terrorists. “In the ensuing encounter, one terrorist and an Army dog were killed yesterday. The operation resumed today morning, during which two more terrorists were killed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Army in a post on X, said that that after round the clock surveillance through out the night, an intense firefight unfolded today morning resulting in a significant victory for the forces.

“Relentless operations and tactical excellence has led to the elimination of three terrorists. The operation also saw the successful recovery of war-like stores, marking a critical step in maintaining security in the region,” the Army said.
