Ramban, Oct 19: A tragic road accident occurred on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway near Gujjar Mode in Ramsu near Khoni Nallah when a truck skidded off the road and plummeted into a deep gorge.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck, bearing registration number JK01AJ-5681 was traveling from Jammu to Srinagar when it lost control and fell into the gorge, resulting in complete destruction. Local sources confirmed that the driver succumbed to injuries on the spot.

The deceased driver’s body has been shifted to Ramsu Hospital for identification and further formalities.

The stretch of highway near Khooni Nallah is notorious for its treacherous terrain and frequent accidents.

The traffic police have urged drivers to exercise caution while navigating this route and adhere to traffic guidelines to avoid such unfortunate incidents.
