4 top leaders among 239 in fray for Phase-2 of J&K Assembly Elections

Srinagar, Sep 24: The second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections are set to be held tomorrow (Wednesday) while the top leadership of four major political parties are in the electoral fray, who are vying for five different seats across the Union Territory.

As per the INS, in the 26 Assembly Constituencies across six districts of J&K, there are over 25.71 lakh eligible voters while 239 candidates are in the fray.

The top leaders of four parties including National Conference’s Omar Abdullah, BJP’s Ravinder Raina, Apni Party’s Syed Altaf Bukhari and Congress’s Tariq Hameed Karra are vying for five different seats.

Omar is contesting from two seats including Ganderbal and Budgam while Raina is vying from Nowshera seat. Besides, Altaf Bukhari is contesting from Chanapora seat and Karra is contesting from Central-Shalteng seat.

The voting will begin at 7:00 AM tomorrow.
