Many people tend to hold a negative view of the stock market, shaped by various historical events and experiences. This often stems from a lack of understanding and knowledge, leading to poor investment decisions. Unfortunately, many investors, especially in regions like Kashmir, fall prey to scams due to their lack of knowledge.

Frequently, investors receive calls from so-called advisors outside kashmir , offering profit- loss sharing models , in stock market . However, SEBI guidelines in India clearly state that sharing profits and losses and promising fixed income from stock market investments is illegal. Despite this, some advisors exploit people’s lack of understanding, encouraging investments in small-cap stocks, which can be highly speculative and risky.

It’s essential to remember that around 90% of the stocks or investment opportunities presented might not be good investments. Therefore, focusing on the top 10% of quality companies with strong fundamentals is crucial. Always consider buying shares of well-established companies which are well-known and respected in the market.

First-time investors should prefer mutual funds over direct stock investments. Mutual funds are managed by professional fund managers and diversify the risk. Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) in mutual funds can help investors earn substantial returns over the long term. Mutual funds provide one of the best and simplest ways for common people to save and grow their money over time without the hassle of directly managing their stock investments.

In summary, always educate yourself before investing, be cautious of unsolicited advice promising guaranteed returns, and consider mutual funds for a safer and more structured investment approach.

For first-time investors, avoiding trading, low quality shares stocks and utilizing mutual fund rules can help you learn the basics and understand the market better.
