EC announces 3-phased assembly polls in J&K from Sept 18

Srinagar, Aug 16: The Election Commission of India on Friday announced assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir in three phases from September 18.

Addressing a news conference, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar said that the three phased elections in J&K will commence from September 18.

The other two phases will be on September 25 and October 01, 2024.

Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir has been without an elected government since last six years.
