IGP Kashmir, officers planted saplings at DPO Srinagar

Srinagar Aug 07: As a part of campaign “Ek Paed Shaheed Kay Naam”, Inspector General of Police V.K Birdi-IPS along with other Police Officers took part in the plantation drive at District Police Office Srinagar.

“During the drive, IGP Kashmir along with DIG CKR Srinagar Rajiv Pande-IPS & SSP Srinagar planted saplings of different trees at the District Police Headquarters (DPO) Srinagar in the everlasting memory of the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty,” a police spokesman said in a statement.

It further reads, SP DAR, SP HQ, DySP HQ Srinagar and CPO, including the officials of DPO also participated in the programme.

Moreover, the main aim of the initiative is to inculcate a sense of patriotism and responsibility among the citizens towards the nation while eulogizing the supreme sacrifices of the brave-hearts of Jammu & Kashmir Police in the service of the nation. Besides, to promote awareness, importance and community engagement in understanding environmental ethics and role of Police and Public in upliftment of Nation and Natural resources.
