The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss and deliberate on the current industrial scenario in the valley with a particular focus on the challenges being faced by the electrical equipments manufacturing sector following the recent shift in industrial policy by the UT Government, a statement issued here reads.

During the meeting, it was resolved that the current government policy is showing adverse effects on the health of existing industrial landscape and are on the verge of closure.

It was also impressed upon that the shift in policy is adversely affecting the financial health of the industry and are adding to the number of NPA’s with every passing day.

The members also opined that if the government does not address the issues faced by the existing units the units already under stress will close down adding to the unemployment scenario in the state.

The members were urged to send their suggestions to the President and the issues will be made public through a press briefing and will also be taken up with the authorities at the highest level.

The date and venue of the press briefing will be announced separately, the statement reads.
