Bhaderwah, Jun 12: In the late night encounter at Chattergala area of Bhaderwah in Doda district, five soldiers including a special police officer were injured.

All of the were rescued to sub district hospital and from where they have been shifted to command hospital in Udhampur.

“#Army and #Police joint Naka has engaged #terrorist in area of Chattargala area of #Doda . Firefight is going on. More details to following,” ADGP Jammu informed on X.

Officials told KNO that the terrorists opened fire on a joint party of Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in Chattergala forests where the search and cordon operation has been going on since April 27 after Basantgarh encounter in Udhampur district.

Immediately after the fire fight broke out more forces have been rushed to the area and traffic movement on Bhaderwah-Bani route has been suspended. No vehicle of tourist is being allowed to move towards Chattergala whereas security has been heightened in the entire region.

Sources told the KNO that the after the initial firing, militants have fled from the area and a massive manhunt has been launched.
