KU Model High School students visit varsity’s Directorate of Physical Education and Sports

Srinagar, May 12: Prof. Nilofer Khan Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir has expressed special concern for Kashmir University Model High School and has directed the Directorate to provide full support to the students.

As per the directions the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports has overtaken sports of Kashmir University Model High school and intends to enhance sports infrastructure in the University and also to promote sports development in the school.

A group of 70 Students (40 Girls and 30 Boys) from Kashmir University Model High School visited the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, University of Kashmir. During their visit, they toured the athletic track, physiotherapy lab, and gymnasium, gaining valuable insights into physical education and physical fitness. The students were excited to explore the state-of-the-art facilities and learn about the importance of physical fitness.

The students were accompanied by the Vice chairman Prof Adil Amin Kak and teachers and were received by the Dr. Mandeep Singh Director, Physical Education and Sports, Dr. Surjeet Singh Assistant Professor, Dr. Harbinder singh, Hockey coach (Incharge Tour), Sheikh Adil, Gymnasium coach, Surjeet Kour, Manzoor Ahmad Mir Section officer Mr.Inam ul Haq and other staff members of the Directorate.

Dr. Mandeep singh Director, DPE&S welcomed the students and emphasized the importance of physical education and sports in overall personality development. He encouraged the students to take up sports and physical activities regularly and offered support and guidance to help them excel in their chosen fields.

Prof. Adil Amin Kak, Vice Chairman Kashmir University Model High school, is also keenly interested to promote sports in the school and has thanked Dr. Mandeep Singh, Director, Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, for his efforts. “We recognize the importance of sports in the overall development of our students, and our goal is to make sports an integral part of our school curriculum, encouraging every student to participate and develop their physical and mental abilities.We believe that sports can teach valuable life skills such as discipline, and perseverance, which are essential for success in all areas of lifestyle of our students.

Dr. Mandeep Singh, Director DPE&S has taken a serious note for promoting sports in Kashmir University Model High School and has assured all possible support to the students. He emphasized the importance of physical education and sports in overall personality development and encouraged the students to engage in sports and physical activities regularly.The Director also directed to Groundsman staff that the playfields shall be maintained to provide a safe and conducive environment for the physical fitness activities of the students.

Dr. Harbinder Singh Hockey Coach (Incharge Tour) educated the students on the importance of ethics in sports, while Sheikh Adil, Gymnasium Coach, taught them about health and fitness and “Physical fitness is an essential aspect of overall health and wellbeing, and regular exercise can help prevent chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and obesity he aslo aware them that the gym is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including cardio machines, free weights, and strength training machines, to provide a comprehensive workout experience and regular physical activity can also improve mental health and mood, reducing stress and aanxiety Surjeet Kour encouraged the students to participate in sports activities, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

The visit aimed to promote physical education and sports among school students, encouraging them to adopt sports and physical activities as a part of their daily routine. The Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, University of Kashmir, is committed to promoting sports and physical education among all sections of society, particularly among the youth.
