Budgam, Apr 26: All Sikh Minority Employees Association and All Employees Joint Association Kashmir held a massive rally at BK Pora Budgam on Friday to promote voter education and participation in the elections.

The programme was held under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India to promote voter education and participation in elections.

Jugmeet Kaur Bali, President AEJAK applauded the initiative of SVEEP Flagship Programme of Election Commission of India and hoped that all the citizens of the country would vote to further strengthen the roots of democracy.

Bali termed voting as heart of democracy and urged one and all to vote especially Government employees so that India becomes a democratic global super power.

She observed that India is one of the largest democracies in the world. The notion ‘Government of the people, by the people and for the people’ holds true only when the entire nation participates in the election process, she said.
