Srinagar, Mar 09: Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of J&K Police, a specialized unit to check rising menace of drugs, achieved another success on Saturday after it recovered a huge quantity of Heroin worth crores of rupees in Shopian.

A statement issued to the INS reads that on a specific information that two drug peddlers Talib Hussain Seer and Mohammad Azim Seer—residents of Amshipora Shopian are transporting contraband (Heroin) on a motorcycle bearing registration number DL5SAP 3926 in order to sell it among other drug peddlers at Vehil Shopian.

Accordingly, Police Station ANTF Kashmir registered a case under FIR number 01/2023 under section 8/21, 29 NDPS Act and subsequently, ANTF team under the immediate command of DySP ANTF Kmr and under the close supervision of SSP ANTF J&K, reaching Vehil Shopian and apprehended the peddlers riding on the Motor Cycle and recovered 500 grams of Heroin worth crores concealed underneath the seat of the Motorcycle, from their possession in presence of Executive Magistrate.

ANTF J&K appealed general public to share information regarding such drug dealers active in their respective areas so that appropriate action as warranted under law is taken against such drug peddlers so that this menace is uprooted from our society.

General people of the area hailed the efforts of ANTF Kashmir and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate this menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship, the statement read.
