SMVD Narayana Super-speciality Hospital celebrates ‘World Hearing Day 2024’

Srinagar, Mar 03: With the proactive philanthropic support of SMVD Shrine Board, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super-speciality Hospital hosted a remarkable event on World Hearing Day 2024, with the theme “Let’s make ear and hearing care a reality for all.”

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of ear and hearing care and showcased success stories of children who got benefited from cochlear implant surgeries conducted by the Hospital in recent post.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Syed Junaid Aadil, Deputy Commissioner at Kashmir, as the Chief Guest.

In attendance were congenital deaf and mute children along with their parents, who actively participated in the event.

This gathering provided a platform for parents to share their experiences and express gratitude for the life-changing cochlear implant surgeries performed by a professional team spearheaded by Dr. Rohan Gupta, ENT surgeon at the hospital.

Dr. Rohan Gupta; who has to his credit significant number of life transforming cochlear surgeries, shared his insights and emphasized importance of early detection and treatment of deafness.

Various senior functionaries of hospital and cochlear implants manufacturing company were also present in the occasion.

The hospital team reiterated its resolve of providing comprehensive healthcare services, including ear and hearing care, to the community and unequivocally lauded the critical contribution of Shrine Board in furtherance of its social initiatives.

It was revealed that so far Hospital has carried out 23 surgeries sponsored by the SMVD Shrine Board.

Speakers were unanimous in stating that promoting of ear and hearing care is fundamental aspect of overall health and well-being of a child. Through sharing of inspiring success stories of children who have overcome hearing challenges, the hospital embarked on crucial post of creating awareness and encouraging more and more parents to seek appropriate treatment and support for their children having hearing deformities.

Speaker also mentioned that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super-speciality Hospital established by SMVD Shrine Board is a leading healthcare institution of JKUT that is committed to delivering state of art patient care and medical services across various specialties. The hospital’s multidisciplinary team of experts strives to provide world-class healthcare facilities to the community, ensuring the well-being of all.

Further, numerous other philanthropic initiatives of Board aimed at helping the poor and needy (on which Board spends a substantial amount) are being implemented through the hospital.
