Srinagar, Jan 30: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam on Tuesday said to have attached property of notorious drug peddler in the district.

A police spokesman in a statement issued to INS said that under construction house on land Shamilat (4) bearing survey No. 220 belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Aijaz Ahmad Ganie son of late Ghulam Ahmad Ganie resident of Gadihama, Kulgam has been attached under section 68-F (2) of NDPS Act 1985.

“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner,” police said.

Pertinently, the said drug peddler is involved in Case FIR number 184/2020 and in Case FIR number 83/2022 of Police Station Kulgam.

This action reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area have hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler, police said.
