Pahalgam sets new record, witnesses all-time highest temperature in Jan at 14.1°C

Srinagar, Jan 15: Amidst the prolonged dry spell in Kashmir, the parts of Kashmir have been recording the highest day temperature in this January. Similarly, Pahalgam, one of the famous tourist spot has recorded the hottest maximum temperature on Monday.

An Independent Weather Forecaster, Faizan Keng told INS, Pahalgam has set a new record of hottest day in January month as the previous all-time highest temperature recorded in 14 Jan, 2018 has been surpassed today as the place recorded a maximum of 14.1°C today.

“At 14.1°C, Pahalgam has recorded its highest ever January temperature in its history,” he said, adding that temperatures are comparable to what should be witnessed towards the end of March.

Today’s temperature is 10.0°C above normal, he said, adding that previous all-time highest temperature was 13.8°C recorded on 14 Jan 2018.
