No one wants to be called Fat head so it’s no surprise that the concept of brain Gym has emerged to perform better.

A brain Gym simply put describes a specific set of movements, processes, programmes, materials and educational philosophy designed to stimulate the brain for optimum performance.

Brain is infact pure hardware which can be activated by certain focussed movements or exercises called brain flexing exerceses where by a person’s area of weakness is diagnosed and accordingly treated.

Brain Gym builds enhances or restores natural neural pathways in the body and brain to assists natural learning.

It is all about balancing stimulating the brain to wake up and act for the set goal.

According to brain Gym website the balancing process is straightforward yet requires deep understanding based on a personal experience of the physical as well as mental and emotional components of learning process for skilful non intrusive facilitation and principle behind it is fairly simple as learning is not an isolated function of the brain as body is very much part of it.

Every nerve and cell is network of contribution to our intelligence and learning capability.

The right and left hemisphere of the brain must be coordinated for optimum performance.

The front and back parts and top and bottom parts of the brain must also be coordinated for focusing and centring.

There are number of exercises each meant to serve a specific brain function,these techniques that include guided crawling, rolling swinging and creeping when properly applied help learning related difficulties such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, poor memory, poor organising skills, lack of body coordination, poor concentration and boost overall intelligence.

The brain can be re-patterned according to requirements through these exercises.

The brain Gym exercises are largely popular in United States,Britain and Canada. There are some exersises designed to help to become positive active and clear and energetic too and drinking water has a role as brain major component is estimated around 90 %, it is also helpful during exams and stressful situations if one drinks water.

Some of the exersises which helps improve blood that would help up concentration skills required for reading writing etc.

1.Flex your hand so that there is a wide a space as possible between the thumb and index finger. Place your index and thumb into the slight indentations below the collar bone on each side of the sternum press lightly in a pulsing manner simultaneously, place the other hand over the navel area gently press on these points for about 2 minutes.

Cross Crawl. This exercise helps coordinate the right and left brain by exercising the information flow between the two hemispheres.it is useful for Spelling, writing, listening, reading and comprehension.

Stand or sit. Put the right hand across the body to the left knee as you raise it and then do the same thing for the left hand on the right knee just as if you were marching.

Do this either sitting or standing for about 2 minutes.

Hook UPS. This works well for nerves before a test or special event such as making a speech it calms the mind and improves concentration.

Stand or sit. Cross the right leg over the left at the ankles. Take your right wrist and cross it over the left wrist and link up the fingers so that the right wrist is in top. Bend the elbows out and gently turn the fingers in towards the body until they rest on the sternum (breast bone)in the centre of the chest. Stay in this position keep the ankles crossed and then breathe evenly in this position for a few minutes.you will be calmer.
