Srinagar, Dec 19: Commissioner Secretary, Skill Development Department, Saurabh Bhagat has chaired State Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Committee (SSDEC) meeting in which 23 trades, 40 trade units functioning in 18 ITIs were approved for affiliation to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVET) scheme of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) Govt of India.

As per a statement issued to INS, Regional Director RDSDE J&K, Director Skill Development J&K, Mission Director JKSDM, Deputy Director / Principal NSTI- Srinagar, Joint Director (K) SDD, Deputy Director (Trainings) SDD, Deputy Director (Examination) JKBOTE, Consultant NISBUD participated in the meeting.

900 trainees will be benefited by awarding them National Trade Certificate after passing out, which has Global recognition and is NSQF aligned, the communiqué reads, adding that 46 ITIs are so far affiliated to NCVET Scheme in which 493 Trade Units are linked to NCVET Scheme benefiting around 11000 number of trainees.

Department of Skill Development has also processed aligning eight Heritage Craft course curriculum to NCVET Scheme and directions were passed by the chair that these trades along with other left out trades be also processed for affiliation with NCVET Scheme once these heritage courses are aligned to it.
