Srinagar, Dec 18: Five earthquakes have jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening.

As per INS, the tremors were felt in J&K and Kargil in Ladakh Union Territory.

An earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude on the Richter Scale hits Kargil in Laddakh, officials in Meteorological department said, adding that the epicenter was Kargil

The second earthquake hits Ladakh with the magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter Scale.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 on the Richter Scale struck Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The fourth earthquake measuring 3.6 jolted J&K with the epicenter at Kishtwar.

The 5th earthquake measuring 3.4 magnitude jolted Jammu and Kashmir later.

The five earthquakes hit J&K and Ladakh from 3.48 PM to 4:44 PM.

However, no loss of life or injury was reported during the earthquakes.
