Inter district gang of bike lifters busted, 2 arrested in Jammu: Police

Jammu,Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said to have bustedan inter district gang of bike lifters in Miran Sahab Jammu by arresting two persons and also recovering seven bikes from their possession.

A police spokesman said that on 05-10-2023 and 11-10-2023  complainants namely Joginder Singh, son of Sain Dass of KrishnaNagar, Miran Sahib, Tehsil R S Pura and Rimpy Bala, daughter of Girdhari Lal of Dhindey Kalan Miran Sahib Jammu complained regarding theft of thei rmotorcycles including Bullet bearing registration number JK02BC-3881 and Splendor JK02DB-6283.

On this information, police said that a case under FIR number 143/2023 under 379/IPC and 150/2023 under section 379 IPC was registered at PS Miran Sahib and investigation was started.

During investigation, a police party of PS Miran Sahib headed by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO PS Miran Sahib  Inspector Bopinder Singh, PSI Maroof Ahmed and PSI Mohd Altaf of PS Miran Sahib under the overall supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta based on the information gathered from CCTV footage, and human intelligence, made hectic efforts.

With timely intervention, one person namely Farooq Ali, son of Nazir Hussain of Simbal Camp, Ward number 4 was arrested, police said, adding that during sustained questioning, the accused confessed about his involvement in above said crime and on his disclosure stolen motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BC-3881 and JK02DB- 6283 were recovered from his possession. 

Moreover, five more motorcycles have been recoveredon his disclosure. On his disclosure, one person namely Ranjit Singh @Shotu, son of Jagdish Singh of Thathi Seshwan Rajbagh was also arrested whopurchased these stolen bikes and further sold them.  Investigation of the case is still in progress,police said.

The recovered bikes include JK02CB 3881 (Bullet), JK02DF8193 (Bullet), Chasis no. MBLHAR086HHL58116 (Splendor), JK02CM 7933 (Splendor),JK02DB  62836 Chasis no. MBLHAR08XHHJ23814 (Splendor), Chasis no.ME4JC894HCG02F2068 and Chasis no. MBLHAWW097KH903343 (Splendor).
