Govt suspends 2 Police officials with immediate effect

Srinagar, Oct 01: The Government has suspended two Jammu and Kashmir Police officials with immediate effect and attached both of them to ZPHQ here.

Among the suspended officials include ASP Budgam Gowhar Ahmad Khan and DySP Adil Mushtaq.

“In terms of Rule 31(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending an inquiry into his conduct, Shri Gowhar Ahmad Khan, Addl. the Superintendent of Police Budgam, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect”, reads the order, as per GNS.

“It is further ordered that the Officer shall remain attached with Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir, during the period of suspension”, reads the order further.

Similarly, regarding DySP Adil Mushtaq, the Government said that he be deemed to be under suspension with effect from 21-09-2023, the date of his arrest in a case pertaining to the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

“In terms of Rule 31(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, Shri Adil Mushtaq, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PID No. KPS155772, shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from 21-09-2023 i.e the date of arrest of the Officer in case FIR No. 149/2023 under section 7, 7A of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and section 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, 221 of IPC in Police Station Nowgam”, reads the order.
