Jammu, Mar 2: Two passengers were killed and twelve others were injured when a matador they were travelling in met with an accident in Rajouri district on Thursday.

Official sources said that vehicle (JK11C-0836) turned turtle near Kewal Turn in Rajouri district on Thursday morning, leading to the death of two passengers and injuries to 12 others.

The deceased have been identified as Shakeel Ahmed (30) son of Mohammad Bashir of Kewal and Badar Hussain (26) son of Khan Mohammad of Kandi.

The injured were shifted to various health facilities including Government Medical College Rajouri and Community Health Centre Kandi.

The injured has been identified, Mohammad Hafiz (40), Sadam Hussain (30), both from Dramman, Mohammad Amin (50) of Kandi, Mohammad Irfan (27) of Kewal, Zaida Bebe (50) of Phalni, Bago Begum (45) of Kandi, Abdul Rashid (50) of Shahpur, Pushpa Devi (18)  of Phanli, Bilo Begum (60) of Phalni, Parveen Akhtar (40) of Targain, Sobia Kouser (18) and Shaida Begum (45), both from Draj.

A police officer while confirming the accident and casualties as a consequence of it said that a case has been registered and further investigations taken up.
