Srinagar, Feb 17: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that it was important to work for societal transformation by lifting others.
“It is essential of social groups and individuals to come together and make contribution with values in the service of the people,” he said while addressing a function. He participated in the Rotary Club Jamshedpur City & Patna Mid-Town’s district conference in Chandigarh today. The clubs jointly executing major public welfare projects in health, sanitation, women empowerment, skill development & strengthening rural communities in the villages, he said.
“Seva-Service is important in our cultural & spiritual traditions. Our social values teach us to be compassionate, caring & sensitive to others,” he said, adding, “Non-governmental organisations have a greater role in expanding and deepening these values and infuse sensitivity into public service, “ he said, adding, “It is important to work for societal transformation by lifting others. It is essential of social groups and individuals to come together and make contribution with values in the service of the people.”
Meanwhile, Danish Manzoor, Indian Taekwondo Team Athlete and Fit India Movement Ambassador called on Lieutenant Governor at Raj Bhavan Jammu today.
Danish Manzoor accompanied by his coach Atul Pangotra expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor for the “unprecedented support and assistance being provided to the sportspersons of Jammu Kashmir”. Later, Abhishek Jamwal, International Wushu Player also met the Lt Governor.
Also Tript Kumar Sharma, Chairman, Shri Mata Sukrala Devi Trust called on the Lieutenant at the Raj Bhavan.
Tript Sharma accompanied by Jatin Langer, Vimal Mehra and S. Tajinder Singh discussed with the Lt Governor various matters pertaining to the development of Shri Mata Sukrala Devi temple, officials said.”
“The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues put forth by the delegation and assured redressal of all their genuine concerns.”
