Govt Assigns DG Prisons Additional Charge To Deepak Kumar

Srinagar, Oct 11: Government on Tuesday assigned Deepak Kumar (IPS) additional charge of the post of Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K, in addition to his own duties till further orders.
In the interest of administration, It is hereby ordered that Deepak Kumar, IPS (RR:1993), Director general Prosecution, J&K, and holding the additional charge of the posts of Managing Director Police Housing Corporation and Director Prosecution Kashmir shall also hold the additional charge of the post of Director General of Police, Prsions, J&K, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” reads an order issued by the government.
The order comes a week after Director General of Prisons Hemant Lohia was found murdered under suspicious circumstances in Jammu. Police has ruled out militancy angle in the murder and arrested his domestic help as prime accused in the case.
