Srinagar: 93.5 RED FM HAS ANNOUNCED A COLLABORATION WITH THE CANON C.E TYNDALE BISCOE U-19 INVITATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
93.5 RED FM has been a trendsetter in promoting sports in Jammu and Kashmir. RED FM collaborated with TYNDALE BISCOE school to promote the CANON C.E TYNDALE BISCOE INVITATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT as part of this initiative.
The CANON C.E Football Tournament has received a tremendous response 14 teams from various Valley schools are competing in this competition honouring Canon C.E Tyndale-Biscoe, who introduced football to Kashmir. For the development of sports, particularly football, these types of tournaments help youth tremendously to showcase their skills.
On Saturday, September 10th, the final match will be played between Burnhall School and Tyndale Biscoe School.
Football’s popularity in Kashmir is also one of the reasons why the state has produced some of the greatest Indian football players of all time, and tournaments like these will aid in the discovery of new and raw talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Abrar Zargar, Cluster Programming Head and Station Head Srinagar said, “These types of tournaments help to encourage a sporting culture in schools, and we are super excited to be a part of this.” Jammu and Kashmir is one of the only states where football is a more popular sport than cricket, so football has immediate growth potential. Playing sports in school helps a child’s character develop so that he or she becomes confident and adaptable. It also instils patience, self-discipline, perseverance, and the ability to accept the beauty of defeat while also improving their skills, teamwork, and lifelong healthy fitness habits that they will carry into adulthood. Children are no longer viewing sports as merely a physical activity subject in the school curriculum, but as a passion and a career path to achieving their dream of becoming great athletes to represent their country internationally.
