Poonch, Sept 4: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch on Sunday appointed Deputy CEO as inquiry officer into an incident involving carrying of a domestic LPG cylinder by some students to their school located on a hilltop in this district.
The action comes a day after video clip of the incident went viral on social media.
“In view of the video clip gone viral on social media where in the students of MS Upper Bhatidhar Zone Mendhar were found dragging the Gas cylinder towards their school during working hours…. the Dy.CEO Mendhar shall conduct (an) in-depth enquiry into the matter and submit his report to proceed further into the matter” reads an order by CEO. The order also noted that this activity shows “carelessness and dereliction of duties” by the staff of the school.
“In view of the above and pending enquiry into the matter, the salary of all the Staff members of MS Upper Bhatidhar Zone Mendhar shall be kept withheld till the outcome of the enquiry,” he said.
In the video, the students can be seen struggling as they pulled the LPG cylinder with a rope through a narrow track.
