Srinagar, Aug 25: The University of Kashmir strongly condemns the “malicious misinformation campaign by certain vested interests” aimed to try and tarnish the image of the University, which belongs to society & the children.
In a statement, a KU spokesperson, referring to media reports regarding ACB probe in Kashmir University constructions during former VC’s tenure, said that being a public institution, the University is open to accountability and scrutiny by any agency/body. However merely holding of a scrutiny by the investigating agency does not in any manner indicts the University in any sort of wrongdoing.
“We urge media to cross check facts with the University authorities before publishing any stories levelling allegations against the University or its functionaries,” the spokesperson said, cautioning “vested interest elements” against any attempts at tarnishing the reputation of the University as the same goes against the interests of the student community applying for jobs, fellowships and grants within and outside the country.
It is reiterated here that the University of Kashmir  is excelling in areas of research and academics as is evident from its NAAC A-plus grading and 53 rank in NIRF. The University is among top ranked universities in the J&K UT and is committed to make further progress in its academic and research pursuits.
