J&K Reports 637 Covid-19 Cases, One Death

Srinagar, Aug 11: Jammu and Kashmir reported 637 fresh covid-19 cases even as there was one death due to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Thursday.

They said that 112 cases were reported from Jammu division and 525 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 472011. Among the cases, 172874 are from Jammu division and 299137 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 65 cases, Udhampur 3, Rajouri 5, Doda 11, Kathua 3, Samba 4, Kishtwar 13, Poonch 2, Ramban 6, Reasi 0, Srinagar 174, Baramulla 178, Budgam 58, Pulwama 22, Kupwara 28, Anantnag 16, Bandipora 9, Ganderbal 6, Kulgam 32 and Shopian 2.

There was one death, from Kashmir Valley, during the time. So far 4777 people have succumbed to the virus and among them include 2346 from Jammu division and 2431 from the Valley.

Besides, they said, 670 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—174 from Jammu division and 496 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 4893 active cases— 922 in Jammu and 3971 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.
