J&K Reports 626 Covid-19 Cases, No Death

Srinagar, Aug 9: Jammu and Kashmir reported 626 fresh covid-19 cases even as there was no death due to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.

They said that 114 cases were reported from Jammu division and 512 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 470827. Among the cases, 172692 are from Jammu division and 298135 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 72 cases, Udhampur 5, Rajouri 2, Doda 8, Kathua 3, Samba 2, Kishtwar 9, Poonch 3, Ramban 9, Reasi 1, Srinagar 167, Baramulla 105, Budgam 81, Pulwama 15, Kupwara 64, Anantnag 22, Bandipora 14, Ganderbal 24, Kulgam 19 and Shopian 1.

There no death, either from Jammu or Kashmir Valley during the time. So far 4776 people succumbed to the virus and among them include 2346 from Jammu division and 2430 from the Valley.

Besides, they said, 525 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—122 from Jammu division and 403 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 5146 active cases— 1135 in Jammu and 4011 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 5280 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
