Jammu and Kashmir Reports 452 Covid-19 Cases, No Death

Srinagar, Aug 8: Jammu and Kashmir reported 452 fresh covid-19 cases even as there was no death due to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.

They said that 94 cases were reported from Jammu division and 358 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 470201. Among the cases, 172578 are from Jammu division and 297623 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 59 cases, Udhampur 11, Rajouri 3, Doda 2, Kathua 6, Samba 6, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 1, Ramban 5, Reasi 1, Srinagar 113, Baramulla 143, Budgam 13, Pulwama 23, Kupwara 23, Anantnag 9, Bandipora 6, Ganderbal 10, Kulgam 16 and Shopian 2.

There no death, either from Jammu or Kashmir Valley during the time. So far 4776 people succumbed to the virus and among them include 2346 from Jammu division and 2430 from the Valley.

Besides, they said, 711 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—226 from Jammu division and 485 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 5045 active cases— 1143 in Jammu and 3902 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 8748 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
