Jammu Reports 65 Covid-19 Cases, Kashmir 643

Srinagar, Aug 7: Jammu and Kashmir reported 706 fresh covid-19 cases even as there was no death due to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.

They said that 65 cases were reported from Jammu division and 643 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 469749. Among the cases, 172484 are from Jammu division and 297265 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 36 cases, Udhampur 6, Rajouri 5, Doda 5, Kathua 2, Samba 2, Kishtwar 2, Poonch 4, Ramban 4, Reasi 0, Srinagar 203, Baramulla 248, Budgam 67, Pulwama 7, Kupwara 50, Anantnag 41, Bandipora 10, Ganderbal 4, Kulgam 12 and Shopian 1.

There no death, either from Jammu or Kashmir Valley during the time. So far 4776 people succumbed to the virus and among them include 2346 from Jammu division and 2430 from the Valley.

Besides, they said, 665 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—147 from Jammu division and 518 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 5304 active cases— 1275 in Jammu and 4029 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 922 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
