‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ celebrations by Tiger Division in Jammu

Jammu: In remembrance of supreme sacrifices of soldiers during Kargil War, the Tiger Division organised ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ celebrations at ‘Tiger War Memorial’ and Balidan Stambh in Jammu, today.

Maj Gen Neeraj Gosain, GOC, Tiger Division, Brig Gautam Segan, Dy GOC and all ranks of the Tiger Division paid tributes to the bravehearts in a solemn wreath laying ceremony at ‘Tiger War Memorial’. Lt Col Rishma Sarin, wife of braveheart Maj Mohit Sharma, AC, SM also paid tributes to the bravehearts.

 

Brig Manpervesh Herr, Commander Shivalik Brigade and all ranks of paid tributes to the bravehearts in a solemn wreath laying ceremony at Balidan Stambh in Jammu. A large number of veterans and citizens of Jammu were also present on the occasion to remember the Kargil war Heroes.

 

A mini Marathon Run, for a distance of 10 Km was also organised by prominent citizens of Jammu to express gratitude to the gallant soldiers. The run culminated at Balidan Stambh, with Runners carrying the National Flag and raising slogans for soldiers. The highlight of the event was the presence of five battle casualties, Col Virender Kumar Sahi, VrC, Col Sham Lal, H/Capt Shamsher Singh, Hav Harbans Lal and Hav Bachan Singh, who gave chilling accounts of their experiences. Brig Harcharan Singh expressed gratitude for the tremendous response from citizens of Jammu.
