146 New Covid-19 Cases, One Death Reported In Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, July 9: Jammu and Kashmir reported 146 fresh covid-19 cases even as there was one person died due to the virus during last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

They said that 90 cases were reported from Jammu division and 56 from Kashmir division, taking the overall tally to 455953.

Giving district wise details, he said, Jammu reported 67 cases, Srinagar 45, Udhampur nine, Samba six, Ganderbal, Poonch and Budgam reported four cases each, Kathua and Baramulla reported two cases each while Rajouri, Doda and Shopian reported one case each.

Among the total cases, 167596 are from Jammu division and 288357 from Kashmir.

There was one death from Jammu region due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4758 persons have succumbed to the virus—2333 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 84 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—59 from Jammu division and 24 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 754 active case— 470 in Jammu and 284 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 5,898 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
