Srinagar, June 27: While weatherman has forecast dry weather till with very light rain at one or two places, night temperature recorded rise at most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

“Mainly dry weather over the plains of Jammu and Kashmir with the possibility of very light rain thunder at one or two places on the higher reaches towards afternoon/evening,” a meteorological department official here said .

“Overall, there’s no forecast of any major rainfall activity till ending June,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said, Srinagar recorded a low of 18.2°C against 16.7°C on the previous night. The temperature, he said, was 0.9°C above normal during this time of the year for the summer capital.

Qazigund recorded a low of 15.6°C against 14.0°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.1°C ‘below’ normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.

In Pahalgam, the mercury settled at 11.6°C against 10.2°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.9°C above normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir during this time of the season, he said.

Kokernag recorded a low of 15.9°C against 15.0°C on the previous night. It was 0.6°C above normal for the place in south Kashmir during this time of the season, the official said.

Gulmarg recorded a low of 11.6°C against 10.8°C on the previous night, the official said. While 11.4°C is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 0.2°C above normal for the famous place in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Kupwara town saw a low of 15.5°C against 14.6°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.1°C above normal for the district, the official said.

Jammu recorded a low of 28.3°C against 26.3°C on the previous night, the official said.

The temperature was 1.9°C above normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 16.8C, Batote 20.0°C, Katra 25.6°C while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 18.3°C, the official said.
