J&K Sees Spike With 54 Fresh Covid-19 Cases

Srinagar, June 24: Jammu and Kashmir saw spike in covid-19 cases, reporting 54 new infections in 24 hours—a jump of 30 per cent compared to yesterday—that pushed overall tally to 454677 while the death toll remained at 4755, officials said on Friday.
They said that 32 cases were reported from Jammu, 16 from Srinagar, two each from Doda and Ganderbal besides one Ramban and Pulwama districts respectively. Among the total cases, 166755 are from Jammu division and 287922 in Kashmir.
There was no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4755 persons have succumbed to the virus—2330 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.
Besides, they said, 24 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—18 from Jammu division and six from Kashmir Valley. So far 449672 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 250— 158 in Jammu and 92 in Kashmir.
The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 9037 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
