J&K reports 11 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar, June 8: Jammu and Kashmir reported eleven new covid-19 cases while there was no death due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.

They said that seven cases were reported from Jammu district and four from Baramulla, taking the overall tally to 454301—166514 in Jammu division and 287787 in Kashmir.

There was also no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4752 persons have succumbed to the virus—2328 in Jammu and 2424 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, eight Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—all from Jammu division. So far 449491 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 58— 49 in Jammu and 9 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 5891 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
