J&K reports 8 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar, May 29: Jammu and Kashmir reported eight new covid-19 cases while there was no death due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.

They said that six of the cases were reported from Jammu and one each from Srinagar and districts, taking the overall tally to 454242—166464 in Jammu and 287778 in Kashmir.

There was also no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4752 persons have succumbed to the virus—2328 in Jammu and 2424 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, four Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—three from Jammu division and one from Kashmir. So far 449423 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 67— 48 in Jammu and 19 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 1517 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
