Round Off: 3 LeT Militants Killed In Nowgam Gunfight, Says Police

Srinagar, May 25: A gunfight started between militants and a joint team of police and army in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.

A police officer said that a joint cordon-and-search operation was launched by police and army amid specific inputs about the presence of the militants at Najibhat Keeri area of Baramulla. As the joint party reached a suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire which was retaliated, leading the encounter.

“Encounter has started at Najibhat crossing in Kreeri area of Baramulla. Police and Army on job. Further details shall follow,” police also said in a tweet.
