J&K reports 5 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar, May 17: Jammu and Kashmir reported five new covid-19 cases while there was no death due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.

They said that the three cases were reported from Jammu and two from Srinagar district, taking the overall tally to 454153—166402 in Jammu and 287751 in Kashmir.

There was also no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4752 persons have succumbed to the virus—2328 in Jammu and 2424 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, six Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours and include three each from Jammu division and Kashmir Valley. So far 449351 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 50— 39 in Jammu and 11 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 18353 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
