Srinagar, May 14: Police on Saturday arrested a teenager allegedly involved in stabbing a person in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

“Yesterday (May 13), at about 2130 hours, Police received information that a scuffle broke out between Mehrosh Parvaiz son of Parvaiz Ahmad Rather of Hanjoora and Mohammad Hussain Dar son of Showkat Ahmad Dar of Muqam Dadompora in Chadoora area of Budgam,” a police spokesperson said in a statement . “During the scuffle, Mohammad Hussain Dar stabbed Mehrosh Parvaiz in his abdomen thereby received critical injuries.” The injured was shifted to hospital where his condition is stated to be critical, the spokesperson said.

Accordingly, he said, a case (FIR No. 85/2022) under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Chadoora and investigation was set into motion.

“During the course of investigation, the accused teenager was arrested and further investigation into the case is going on,” he said, adding, “Our consistent action against anti-social elements should reassure community members that Police is resolved to act tough against such elements involved in any criminal activities so as to keep our society free from scourge of crime.”
