J&K reports 9 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar, May 6: Jammu and Kashmir reported nine new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours while there was no death due to the pathogen, officials said on Friday.

They said that three of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu division and six from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 454088—166361 in Jammu and 287727 in Kashmir, they said.

Giving district wise details, they said, two were reported from Jammu, one from Poonch while all six cases from the Valley were reported from Srinagar district.

There was also no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4751 persons have succumbed to the virus—2328 in Jammu and 2423 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, eight Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours, five from Jammu division and three from the Valley, during the time. So far 449268 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 61— 31 in Jammu and 30 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 19198 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
