Jammu, April 16: A tragedy was averted as police and army on Saturday recovered an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) on Rajouri Gurdan road.
A police official said that police and Army launched a joint Cordon and Search Operation in the area in the early morning hours following some suspicious movement.
A suspicious object was found alongside road which turned out to be an IED during examination, the official said. A Bomb Squad of police destroyed the object through a controlled explosion at a safer location, he said.
‘A case has been registered and further investigations have been started,” the officials added.
