Dr Darakhshan inaugurates ‘Auqaf Palika Bazar Complex’ at Residenct Road in Jammu

Jammu: Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today inaugurated the Auqaf Palika Bazar Complex building at Residency Road in Jammu in presence of Honourable members of J&K Waqf Board Sohail Kazmi & Nawab Din. Additional secretary Revenue(Haj & Auqaf) Muzaffar Malik, CEO of Waqf Board Dr Syed Majid Jahangir, the Administrator Mudassir Iqbal, the management of the Board & prominent public personalities were also present on the occasion. The Auqaf Palika Bazar is a multi-storied Complex constructed by the Waqf Board on the Waqf land at the prime location in Jammu city. It has spaces for commercial shopping centers, office complexes, meeting halls & food court spaces too. Just after the inauguration, possession was also given to the already selected allottees who were chosen after a transparent process of allotment by the Board. This structure will be a big revenue source for the Board. Speaking to media after the inauguration Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that she was happy to see that such a productive structure has been constructed at the prime place in Jammu & she would see that more such mega structures are constructed throughout the UT at different prime locations. “J&K Waqf has immense assets & properties but we have to reform the working within the Waqf management system so that we are able to create huge income sources. Soon the new procedures & guidelines will be drafted and implemented to make Waqf a board of people’s aspirations,” said Waqf Board Chairperson. Dr Darakhshan said that huge assets and properties are encroached & mismanaged and the board will formulate a prompt action roadmap for removing the encroachments and ensure that proper & legal use of the Waqf assets and properties is done. She appealed to people to cooperate with the new Board in streamlining the Waqf management in J&K.
