International Women’s Day: DHSK Compliments Women Health Workers

Srinagar, March 08: On the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD), Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather on Tuesday complimented the services of women health workers.

In his message, the director said as in every field the women workforce whether doctors, paramedics, nurses, sweepers or any other branch of medicine have excelled and worked shoulder to shoulder with their men counterparts in each and every field of medicine.

“We are highly proud of their skillful activities in their contribution towards better health care services for the general public,” Dr Mushtaq said.

The director particularly laid emphasis on the role played by the women health workers during the Covid-19 pandemic whether as doctors, nurses,vaccinatotos Or as part of sample ocollection teams,    women workforce were at the forefront of Covid-19 management activities.

Dr Mushtaq said women in any field should be treated equally without any discrimination saying that when women are empowered it will empower communities and society.

International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women.

For 2022, the UN given theme is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, which aims to recognize women who are working to build a more sustainable future.
